Peptide aliases and nomenclature: how to verify that two names mean the same molecule
A peptide name may refer to a sequence, development program, drug ingredient, modification, fragment, or informal vendor label. Resolve the molecular identity before attaching a paper to it or comparing it with another compound.

One research object can have several legitimate names
A peptide may be indexed by an amino-acid sequence, generic or nonproprietary name, sponsor development code, brand name, database identifier, precursor relationship, or modified form. These names can point to the same core molecule, but they may also distinguish different salts, attachment groups, formulations, or analogs.
Aliases are useful for literature discovery only after they are verified. Treating a similar-looking string as equivalent can attach the wrong trial, approval status, or mechanism to a page.
Resolve identity with a source hierarchy
Start with the primary paper or trial registry and record the exact name, development code, sponsor, sequence or structural description, and intervention details. Cross-check controlled vocabulary and curated chemical databases. For an approved product, use the current regulator label for active ingredient, formulation, and indication.
Then create an alias table that marks each term as exact, historical, broader class, related analog, formulation-specific, brand-specific, or unverified. Search with the verified exact and historical names while keeping related analogs in separate result sets.
Modifications can create a different evidence object
Lipidation, albumin-binding groups, substitutions, cyclization, conjugation, terminal changes, salts, and delivery systems can change exposure and behavior. A shared peptide fragment or receptor target does not make two constructs pharmacokinetically or clinically interchangeable.
The informal phrase 'CJC-1295 no DAC' illustrates the problem: it is used inconsistently and may point to constructs that are not the defined long-acting CJC-1295 studied in a primary human pharmacology paper. Without exact structural identity, a DAC-versus-no-DAC comparison would overstate the evidence.
Publish uncertainty when names cannot be reconciled
If a vendor page or social post supplies only an informal label, do not infer sequence, purity, modification, or clinical equivalence. Report the identity as unverified and do not borrow citations from a similarly named molecule. Availability for purchase is not an identity record.

Does a shared development code prove two products are identical?
Not by itself. Confirm sponsor, structure or sequence, formulation, and primary or official record before treating names as exact aliases.
Why was the CJC-1295 comparison replaced?
Because 'no DAC' is not used consistently enough to support a rigorous head-to-head public page without a defined molecular identity.
