Identity comes before comparison

GHK-Cu and AHK-Cu are both copper-binding tripeptides, but they are not two labels for the same molecule. Their amino-acid sequences differ, and copper coordination is part of the identity being studied. A paper about one compound should not be used as evidence for the other simply because both appear in skin or hair discussions.

GHK-Cu has a broad experimental literature involving extracellular matrix biology, wound models, gene-expression studies, and skin-related research. Much of that record is preclinical or mechanistic. It can support a discussion of pathways and experimental observations, but it does not establish that every product carrying the name produces a cosmetic or medical outcome.

AHK-Cu has a narrower published record

AHK-Cu appears in research involving human hair follicles and related biological models. An ex vivo follicle result is useful evidence for a defined experimental question. It is not a clinical trial, and it cannot establish effectiveness, safety, concentration, delivery, or durability in people.

This difference in research volume should not be turned into a ranking. A larger literature can still contain indirect evidence, while a smaller literature can answer a narrow question well. The useful comparison is sequence, model, measured outcome, and evidence tier.
